Canoscan 646 u drivers for vista.?

Have changed computer from using Windows ME to VISTA. Have a Canoscan 646u scanner, E- mailed Canon Support team but they have no drivers for Vista unlike the Canon S 300 printer which I bought at the same time. ( money to be made from ink cartridges ) Many web sites offering solutions, any recomended or any other solutions please.|||I downloaded and loaded the XP drivers and ran it in compatibility mode. Works well.
