How to install canon s 300 printer?

i have it pluged right it just won't print what do i need to do for it to print|||If it comes with a CD, stick the CD inside and follow the setup instructions. If it does not, you can download the drivers in the link below.|||you must install cannon s 300 software first, than you pluged it properly.|||Before installing any hardware device on a Windows 2000/XP system, you need to go to the Microsoft Web site and check the hardware compatibility list (hcl) to determine if a driver will work with the Windows 2000/XP system.

Now assuming that the driver is compatible, insert the CD. Set up a new printer:


Click Start, Control Panel. In Classic view double-click Printers and Faxes.


Click Add a printer (LHS).


Follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard.|||go to control panel and go to install hardware...good luck|||1) Have you install the software for the printer?. All printer come with a Installation CD software.





2) Have you select the correct printer for your computer.? You can select it from the "Print File" or at your "Setting"|||That printer model sounds old so I guess you most probably plugged it via a parallel port instead of a usb port, the computer won't be able to auto-install drivers for parallel ports.





You will be able to find the driver from here: http://www.canon-asia.com/index.jsp?fuse鈥?/a> by choosing your printer model from the drop down list, then choose "Drivers %26amp; Softwares" and click Next.





Another window will pop up and you should choose the option that is compatible to your OS version.





After downloading and running the .exe file, a setup program will be ran automatically and is even able to detect printer that is plugged into the parallel port
