Do Canon 1000d and Sony Alpha A200 produce the same quality pictures?

i don't want to know about future growth,

i just mean the body with the kit lens (canon's 18-55mm one and sony's 18-70mm one)

they are both 10mp,

so all i'm asking is if i was to take a picture of the same object from the same angle etc with the canon and then the sony,

what would produce the better picture or would they both be to the same quality? which would be sharper etc?|||Both brands are okay. To take a clear and sharp pictures needs some experience. The technique here is to avoid the shake when taking a shot.|||If you asked 10 different camera pros this question, you might get 10 different answers.

The honest answer is that at low ISO, and with both cameras sporting similar priced lenses with similar or the same focal lengths, both would be very hard to tell apart.

This is when taking a picture in a controlled condition.

When it comes to focus speed and image quality at high ISO and in low light, things change.

You'll have to take a look at the reviews on the net AND google sample pics using google 'images'

Both are good solid cams with good reviews.

One final note, the sony has the advantage with the two lenses you mention.

The sony has steady shot or image stabilization (anti-shake or blur) built into the body, Canon uses stabilization in the lens, and it's only certain lenses. I think Canon lenses with that are marked with letters to denote they are stable, they generally cost more, sometimes a lot more.

All glass attached to Sony alpha dSLRs will be stable becasue it's in the body.

Good luck.
